In conjunction with a number of external parties, we offer scholarship opportunities to all Malaysian students who fulfil the conditions and requirements specified by respective awarding bodies.

MAPCU Scholarship

The MAPCU Scholarship is a project of the Malaysian Association of Private Colleges and Universities (MAPCU) to aim at providing financially deserving students with satisfactory academic records to access quality private education.

Eligibility criteria
Applicants must possess good academic results in SPM/'O' Level, UEC or STPM''A' Level, be active in co-curricular activities, be financially needy, and must not be in receipt of any other financial aid. Students who are already enrolled in their intakes are eligible as well.
Scholarship coverage
The scholarship covers up to 100% of course fees.

KUOK Foundation

This scholarship is available for Malaysian citizens for specific private universities/colleges, with full course completed in Malaysia. Loans or half-loans or half-grants from RM10,000 to RM25,000 are given annually depending on course.

Eligibility criteria
The applicant should be Malaysian citizen, has genuine financial need, good academic results, and relevant pre-university qualification, e.g. STPM.
Scholarship coverage
The scholarship covers up to 100% of course fees, depending on the course.

Sin Chew Daily Education Fund

Organised by Sin Chew Daily, this education fund provides financial assistance to deserving and needy Malaysian students.

Gamuda Scholarship

This scholarship is offered to Malaysian students who have positive life attitude and leadership qualities. It is offered for ful-time Degrees in Engineering, Technical Sciences, Quantity Surveying and Commerce & Humanities.

Eligibility criteria
At least 5 As in SPM or 3 As in STPM, or equivalent (Foundation, Matriculation, Diploma). The student has to be free of any other loans or scholarships and will also have to serve the Gamuda Group for specific period after graduation.
Scholarship coverage
The scholarship covers up to 100% of course fees.

Yayasan Tan Sri Dato' Lee Shin Cheng Scholarships

Non-profit organisation initiated by the IOI Group founder which provides scholarship for the first or second year of undergraduate or postgraduate study in public and private universities for specific disciplines.

Eligibility criteria

Undergraduate: STPM minimum 2As, UEC, Foundation CGPA of minimum 3.5, Australian TER minimum 90.0, First/Second year undegrads CGPA 3.5, Upper second-class Honours or equivalent.

Postgraduate: Bachelor's Degree with minimum upper second-class honours or equivalent. Students who are already pursuing their postgraduate studies can apply as well.

Applicants should also have outstanding extra currirular activities, leadership qualities, be willing to serve IOI upon graduation, be free of other loans/scholarships. Those who are currently doing foundation and pre-degree are not eligible.

Scholarship coverage
The scholarship covers up to RM200,000 of tuition fees.

IJM Scholarship

The IJM Scholarship Award programme was established to help develop, nurture and raise young and bright Malaysian talents of the future. Through the awards, students are given a chance to realise their potential, hence, achieving their highest ambitions.

Eligibility criteria

Good STPM or Matriculation grades, strong record in extra co-curricular activities, good command of English, full-time undergraduate study at a local government university or local private institution of higher learning, should not be bonded to or in receipt of financial aid from other organisations.

Scholarship coverage
Maximum RM10,000 per academic year.

Shell Malaysia Scholarship

Shell Malaysia engages in three main revenue generating business sectors, namely Exploration & Production (SM-EP), Gas and Power (SM-GP) and Downstream Oil Products (SM-DS). They have also established several hub businesses in Malaysia, which provide services and expertise to the Asia Pacific region and, in some cases, globally.

The Shell Malaysia Scholarship Awards are now open for application. The scholarship is awarded to Malaysian students for pursuing full-time undergraduate studies (1st degree course) tenable at recognized universities in Malaysia or overseas, and Pre-University studies in Malaysia.

Engineering (Petroleum, Chemical, Electrical and Mechanical),Sciences (Geosciences, Chemistry and Physics),Business Administration / Economics,Finance & Accounting,IT (includes Business/ Management IT),Master of Science (MsC) in Geosciences.

Eligibility criteria

Diploma, matriculation, STPM, ‘A’ level and SPM/ O’ Level students who meet the following criteria are eligible to apply for the Shell Malaysia Scholarship Awards:

  • Excellent academic achievement with emphasis in English
  • Demonstration of leadership skills through active participation in extra-curricular activities. e.g. societies and clubs, sports, etc.
  • Strong academic record and realistic expectation of a high CGPA or its equivalent. Candidate must posses a good Honours Degree or equivalent in the relevant field from a recognized university.
  • Foreign and local students are required to have English proficiency in both written and spoken by the meeting one the following requirements:
    • Minimum TOEFL score of 550 OR
      Minimum IELTS score of 6.0 OR
      Minimum ELTS score of Band-6 OR
      Minimum MUET score of Band-4.
    Applicants who are native English speakers or holding a degree with English as the medium of instruction may be exempted from this requirement.
  • Applicants who are Malaysian citizens must possess a credit in Bahasa Melayu at the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level or an equivalent qualification.
  • How to apply

    Hong Leong Foundation is now accepting applications for tertiary education scholarship.

    Applicants should meet the following criteria:
    • Aged 17 to 25 years
    • Displays outstanding leadership qualities matched by notable participation in extra-curricular activities
    • Should not be currently or expecting to be receiving any form of financial aid or is bonded by any educational institution or organization
    • Has obtained or awaiting an offer from any of the approved educational institutions (Scholarships will only be offered to candidates who successfully enroll in any of the approved educational institutions)
    • SPM of at least 5As and 2 passes for a minimum of 7 subjects
    • STPM of at least 3As and a pass in the General Paper
    • CGPA of at least 3.5 for Diploma or Matriculation
    Scholarship coverage
    Undergraduate studies at local private institutions ("3+0" twinning programmes on a full-time and on-campus basis) at up to RM 20,000 p. a.

    Diploma/Advanced Diploma courses at RM 5,000 p. a.
