Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
The Doctor of Philosophy programmes provide you with the opportunity to progress from a Masters or equivalent qualification in the areas computing, information technology, multimedia, software engineering, mobile computing, business, management, economics and law. UCTI is offering Doctor of Philosophy programmes in Computing & Business.
Programme Aims
- To provide local and international prospects who are interested with in-depth and advanced
knowledge in one specialized field so that they are able to achieve higher level of effectiveness
as a professional practitioner.
- To nurture doctorates who are caring and sensitive to their environment; and who are capable
of using their creativity, analytical thinking, critical analysis, and problem-solving skills in any
given tasks and situations.
- To produce high qualified researchers/practitioners, towards the common aim of supporting
high quality research activities in the fields of computing and business.
- To produce holistic scholars with wisdom and visionary thoughts in enabling change that
impacts the economy, social and environment.

Minimum admission requirements
- Master Degree preferably with experience in the related field accepted by the university’s graduate admission
committee.
- Equivalent level of studies from a recognized tertiary institution may also be considered for admission.
- Prospective students with research proficiency and able to show publications in referred journals, conference
abstracts will have an added advantage.
- Sound English Language skills are required and the necessary level of competency of English is defined as one of
the following: TOEFL score of 575 / IELTS 6.5 / Equivalent score of any of the above obtained at undergraduate level at a recognized university
