Where is FBM@Mines located?
FBM@Mines is located at the Podium Block E&F, Mines Waterfront Business Park, Jalan Tasik, The Mines Resort City, 43300 Seri Kembangan, Selangor.
How far is FBM @ Mines?
FBM @ Mines is around 8-10 minutes' drive (at normal driving conditions) from TPM.
When will classes commence at FBM @ Mines?
Classes will commence at FBM@Mines on 9th January 2012.
Who will be having classes at FBM @ Mines?
Students mainly from the following programmes will have most of their classes at FBM@Mines:
- Diploma in Business Administration (Part 2)
- Diploma in Accounting (Part 2)
- Level 1, 2 and 3 Undergraduate Degrees as below:
- BA (Hons) in Business Management
- BA (Hons) in Business Management with a specialism in E-Business
- BA (Hons) in Business Management with a specialism in E-Procurement
- BA (Hons) in International Business Management
- BA (Hons) in Marketing Management
- BSc (Hons) in Technopreneurship
- BA (Hons) in Media Marketing
- BSc (Hons) in Media Informatics
- BA (Hons) in Human Resource Management
- BA (Hons) in Services Management
- BA (Hons) in Tourism Management
- BA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance

However, students currently in the Second Semester of their Final Year will remain and complete their programme at UCTI@TPM.
Will BIT, Business Computing, E-Commerce students move to FBM@Mines?
No, most of the classes for the above hybrid programmes will continue to be conducted at TPM until further notice.
Can I still use facilities at TPM?
Yes, all UCTI students can use the facilities – both at TPM and FBM @ Mines.
What are my class timings?
Class timings are the same as those at the TPM campus, i.e. between 8.30 AM and 6.00 PM, Mondays to Fridays.
How do I know if my class is at TPM or FBM @Mines?
All students from Faculty of Business & Management will usually have all their lectures and tutorials at FBM @ Mines. For some modules, where common subjects are being taught, the lectures might be at TPM. However, this will be reflected in your timetable, with the following indicators:

Does this mean I will have to travel between the 2 campuses on the same day for classes?
As far as possible, your classes will be scheduled to be held at one location only during a given day. You will NOT normally be required to travel between the two locations on the same day for classes.
How about MQA Compulsory subjects – will these be held at FBM or TPM?
MQA Compulsory Subjects for Malaysian Students – Bahasa Malaysia, Moral Studies, Islamic Studies and Malaysian Studies classes will continue to be held at the TPM campus.
Which Staff Members will be based at FBM@Mines?
Staff from the Faculty of Business of Management (comprising the School of Business and the School of Accounting, Finance and Quantitative Studies) will move to the new Faculty office at FBM@Mines. There will also be a team of Administrative Services staff based at FBM@Mines specially to serve your needs.
How do I meet my lecturers at FBM@Mines?
We will publish the location of staff rooms and list of lecturers as soon as operations begin there.
How do I meet my lecturers at TPM?
For lecturers who are based at TPM (i.e. those from the Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Technology), you will need to meet them at TPM, unless they have indicated consultation hours in the Consultation Hours system located at FBM@Mines.
How will FBM@Mines appear in the timetables?
The timetable will show lectures as per the current format, but will indicate the location of your lectures i.e. TPM, ENT 3 or Mines.
Where will my Final Year Presentations be held?
Final Year Presentations will be held in Presentation Rooms located at FBM@Mines.
Where do I submit my assignments?
You will submit your assignments for each module at the location where you had your classes for the particular module in question.
Will there be a shuttle service for the students?
Yes, the FREE shuttle services will continue to be available for all students from the Bukit Jalil LRT. There will also be a regular and periodic shuttle service from TPM to FBM@Mines and for the return trip.
As is the current practice for students travelling to TPM, students who are coming from UCTI Accommodation at Endah Promenade, Vista and Fortune Park will need to use their transport pass to get on the Bus to FBM @ Mines. For students not staying at UCTI Accommodations, they will need to purchase the transport pass at RM 30 as per the current practice for transportation to TPM. If you already have purchased this transportation pass for travel to TPM, you may use the same pass to travel to FBM@Mines.
Is there any shuttle from Sungai Besi LRT or Serdang KTM Train Station?
The Mines Waterfront Management provides a shuttle bus service from the following locations:
1. Sungai Besi LRT station at 8.30am and 9.00am. The return service is at 5.30pm.
2. Serdang KTM Train Station at 8.00am and the return services are at 5.30pm and 6.30pm
Where is the pickup and drop off points at FBM@Mines?
The pickup and drop off point is at the entrance of the main Teaching Block.
Does the Professional Code of Conduct apply at FBM@Mines?
Yes, the Professional Code of Conduct does apply to all students at all operating locations.
In particular, students are required to observe the dress code as well as are reminded that Smoking is strictly prohibited in and around the vicinity any of our locations (apart from designated areas), including FBM@Mines. Disciplinary action will be taken in the event of any non-compliance to the Professional Code.
Is there a library at FBM@Mines?
Yes, there is a fully equipped library at FBM @ Mines, catering mainly to the Business modules offered by UCTI.
Where is the library located?
The Library is located at Block D (Ground Floor). It will be a self contained library for the Faculty of Business & Management.
Are there discussion rooms in the library?
Yes, there are discussion rooms in the library and also study carrels for quiet study.
What are the operating hours of the library?
The Library at FBM@Mines will be open on Mondays to Fridays from 8:30 AM to 8:00 PM. This will however be reviewed from time to time based on usage.
Will students be allowed to borrow books from TPM & FBM libraries?
Yes, for your convenience, you will be allowed to borrow books from both libraries.
Can I return books to TPM which I borrow from FBM@Mines Library or vice versa?
No, you should return the books to the library where you borrowed them from.
Where are the computer laboratories located at FBM@Mines?
The computer laboratories are located at the main teaching block at FBM@Mines.
What are the operating hours of the computer laboratories?
Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 8:00 PM. This will be reviewed from time to time based on usage and popularity.
Will students be allowed to use the computer laboratories at both TPM and FBM?
Yes, students will be allowed to use the computer labs at both sites.
Is there a WiFi Internet connection for students at FBM@MINES?
Yes, students will have access to WIFI Internet coverage at FBM@Mines.
What are the recreational and social facilities available?
Indoor sports activities such as table tennis, pool table and board games are available at FBM@Mines.
What are the other facilities available at FBM?

- Administrative Services at the FBM@Mines Main teaching block
- Prayer Rooms: located on the ground floor of the FBM@Mines main teaching block
What Administrative Services will be available at FBM@Mines?
A comprehensive range of academic administrative services will be available at FBM@Mines, including assisting on matters related to Exam, Dockets, Results, Timetables, Attendance, EC & Deferments and Progression etc. Administrative Staff will be located at the FBM@Mines Main Block, and will provide front-line administrative support to students.
The assignment and project submission counter will also be located at the Administrative Office.
Will there be a Student Counselor stationed at FBM?
Yes, the Student Counselor will be based at FBM@Mines on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and students may make appointments to meet her as per current arrangements.
Will we be able to collect and submit passports and visa related forms at FBM?
All passports and visa-related enquiries will have to be submitted at UCTI @TPM. However, forms are available at FBM@Mines, as well as downloadable from the Webspace.
Are we allowed to use the facilities at both TPM and FBM?
Are we allowed to use the lakeside park at Mines Waterfront next to FBM@Mines?
The Waterfront lakeside park is open to students and staff, but fishing or swimming in the lake is strictly prohibited. Students are also reminded to adhere to the Professional Code of Conduct at all times, and should conduct themselves with dignity and propriety at all times.

As UCTI@TPM is located in the Federal Territory and FBM@Mines is in Selangor, how do we observe the public holidays?
FBM@Mines will follow the public holidays of the main site i.e. UCTI@TPM.
Are there parking facilities at FBM@Mines?
Yes. There is ample chargeable parking space at FBM.
What are the parking rates?
Hourly Parking
Special discounted parking rates have been arranged for UCTI students. These are:
First hour: RM1.30
Each subsequent hour: RM1.00
Maximum fee: RM3.30 per entry.
Please note that the parking is charged per entry & not per day basis.
To enjoy these parking rates, UCTI students will be required to produce and show their student ID upon exiting from the Car Park (at the Ticket Payment Booth). In the event of failing to produce the student ID, they could get their parking ticket endorsed with the UCTI stamp. This facility will be available at the Administrative Services of the Main Teaching Block of FBM@Mines.
In the event of failure to comply with these requirements, students will have to pay for the parking time incurred and will be charged the full hourly rate. The maximum fee will then be RM6.30 per entry.
Where are the hourly parking areas?
The hourly parking is at the open parking lots next to FBM@Mines main teaching block and on Levels 3 and 4 of the same block, and is subject to availability.
Is season parking available?
Yes, season parking lots are available. Both reserved and unreserved parking lots are available; and are either covered or uncovered.
What are the season parking rates?
The rates for season parking are as follows:
Deposit: RM100.00 (Refundable).
Option 1:
The parking rate for the unreserved (floating parking) lots is RM65 per month. These uncovered parking lots are in front of the FBM's main teaching block or at Levels 3 and 4.
Option 2:
The parking rate for the reserved uncovered parking lots is RM120 per month. They are located in front of the FBM's main teaching block.
Option 3:
The parking rate for the reserved covered lots is RM140 per month. They are at Level 3 or 4 of FBM's main teaching block.
Note:
Any cars which are illegally parked will be clamped accordingly and are subject to a payment of unclamping fee by the Mines Management.
How do I register for the season parking lots?
Parking registration forms can be obtained at the FBM@Mines administrative services office, or at UCTI@TPM Reception.
You may see the staff at the Administrative Services office at FBM@Mines Office to have your vehicle registered with the Mines Management, or contact Ms. Ng at the Marketing Office of Mines at Block D Ground Floor to register your vehicle personally.
What about parking rates if my parents or driver drops me off at FBM@Mines?
No parking fee will be charged if the vehicle enters and exits at the same parking booth within 15 minutes or less. For this facility, the vehicle must display a car parking sticker obtained from the UCTI administration office. The cost of the sticker is RM2.00 each.
What happens if I use a different car and did not have a car sticker?
To enjoy the free 15 minutes entry and exit, you will have to get the parking ticket stamped with the UCTI stamp (from the FBM@Mines Administrative Services office) or obtain an additional car sticker at a cost of RM2.00.
If I have a season parking either at FBM@Mines or in TPM, would I be able to park at the other site?
The Parking Management at TPM and FBM are different. Students are encouraged to use the free Shuttle Service provided by UCTI.
